Serving as the Chief Appraiser for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Home Loan Guaranty Service since August 2018, he is responsible for developing and overseeing policies for the VA Construction and Valuation department.
Prior to assuming the position as Chief Appraiser, James was an independent fee appraiser. He was a VA panel appraiser for over 7 years. James is both Level I and II appraisal investigator and an Associate member of the Certified Fraud Examiners Association. He was appointed by the Governor of Arizona to serve on the State Board of Appraisals for two terms. Over the six years appointed to the board, he served as Vice chairman of the board, Chairman of application and personnel.
James holds an MBA degree from The University of Arizona. James retired from the United States Marine Corps with over 20 years of service and has been awarded the combat action award for numerous combat engagements in Iraq.
James is passionate about serving not only his county, but all fellow veterans and his community. He has actively volunteered for the past 7 years as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America.
